Studo Terms of Service
Last updated on 31/08/2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of Studo, a study platform offered through a web application and mobile application (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service, and you may terminate your account at any time.
1. Who we are
Studo is currently operated as a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak), in the process of being incorporated as a private limited company (BV). Contact details for the responsible entity can be found in the footer of the website.
2. Scope
These Terms apply to all parts of the Service, including the web application and any mobile applications. By using the Service in any form, you accept these Terms in full.
3. Age requirements
You must be at least 16 years old to create a Studo account. Where applicable data protection legislation in your country of residence permits a lower minimum age, that lower age applies instead (for example, 13 years old in Belgium under the GDPR).
Minors may only create an account with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. If we suspect that a minor has created an account without such consent, the account will be terminated. We do not track minor users for advertising purposes.
4. Account and access
4.1 Creating an account
To create an account we ask for your name, email address and a hashed password. If you sign up via Google or Microsoft, we only collect your name, email address and optionally your profile picture. A phone number is optional and is used to identify you and to send you updates.
4.2 Security
You are responsible for keeping your password secure. If we become aware that your credentials have been leaked, we will notify you and recommend that you change your password.
4.3 One account per user
You may only create one account. If we suspect that multiple accounts have been created from the same IP address, we may block that IP address.
4.4 Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you create or share inappropriate content, or if you otherwise behave inappropriately.
4.5 Deletion of data
When an account is deleted, the data remains available for 30 days before being permanently deleted. Certain data, such as the number and nature of your study plans, may be retained for analytical purposes, but only in fully anonymized form.
5. Content you upload
5.1 Ownership
You remain the owner of the course material you upload (such as PDFs and notes). By uploading this material, you grant Studo the right to process these files, including using them to train our systems or for other purposes within the Service.
5.2 License to Studo
The license you grant to Studo is a Proprietary Commercial License. This content may not be used by you for profit-generating purposes outside of Studo. Doing so may result in your account being banned.
5.3 Responsibility for rights
You may only upload material that you own the rights to or have permission to use. Studo does not actively verify this and is not responsible for it. If an issue arises, we may remove the content in question.
5.4 Copyright infringement
If you suspect that copyright-protected material has been uploaded without permission, you may file a copyright notice. After review, we will remove the content in question if necessary.
6. AI-generated content
6.1 Ownership
AI-generated Studosets, summaries and tasks are the property of Studo.
6.2 No guarantee of accuracy
Studo makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy of AI-generated content. Our AI, Sven, aims to be as accurate as possible, but hallucinations and errors are possible. Verifying this content is the sole responsibility of the user. If you study based on incorrect AI-generated content, Studo is not responsible for the consequences.
6.3 Disclaimer
A disclaimer regarding this is displayed beneath the chat feature. If incorrect information from Sven leads to a worse exam result, Studo accepts no liability for this. You may always submit a bug report so that we can try to fix the issue.

7.6 Price changes
If a subscription price increases, existing subscribers will in most cases be charged the new price starting the following billing period.
8. Prohibited use
You may not:
- Scrape or reverse-engineer the Service
- Misuse the AI features
- Send spam through or within the Service
- Generate or distribute content that harms others
- Otherwise behave inappropriately within the Service
Violating the rules above may result in an IP ban and the permanent suspension of your account.
For non-criminal violations, this generally results in suspension and possibly removal of the account. For serious criminal offenses, we may take formal legal action. Users may always submit a report when our systems fail to catch something. We do not guarantee a 100% detection rate.
9. Liability
Studo's liability is limited to a refund of your paid subscription fees.
Studo is not liable for damages including, but not limited to, worse exam results or the loss of your study sets and other data within the Service.
No force majeure clause is provided regarding the availability of third-party infrastructure (such as hosting partners). Responsibility for outages caused by such partners lies with those partners.
10. Availability of the Service
Studo aims for 99.99% uptime, but this depends on our external providers and cannot be guaranteed.
We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance. Users will be notified at least 24 hours in advance.
We may change or discontinue features of the Service without prior notice.
11. Studo's intellectual property
The platform, brand name, design and source code of Studo are the property of Charles Degraeuwe. Contact details can be found in the footer of the website.
Use of the name "Studo" or its logo is not permitted without prior written consent.
12. Changes to these Terms
We will notify you of changes to these Terms by email and, where relevant, through an in-app notice showing the date of the latest update.
Changes take effect immediately upon announcement. If you do not agree with the new Terms, you may stop using Studo. You can cancel your account at any time.
13. Privacy
For more information on how we process your personal data, including under the GDPR, please refer to our separate Privacy Policy. This policy also covers the use of cookies and tracking.
